After the photo session, I navigate in the lagoon, loving the sight. I’m sitting on a sandbank, alone in the world.

In the evening, Kinkin, the skipper, brings us two fishing rods, puts on some lures, and it will be the best fishing session of my life, 4 hooks and 2,3 mullets each time we cast a line, 37 in one hour. Enough to grill the next day on the BBQ at the back of the boat.

We finish the trip on another pass, just as deserted, only a small village. François is at home here, he introduces his family, his small piece of island at the end of the world. In the evening, I promised a friend to watch her TV programme. Operation: find a TV with satellite. With Jean-Michel and François, we’ll go from house to house, we end up at mealtime in a family watching TV. Atmosphere atmosphere.

We finish the evening with young locals, on this island consumption and sale of alcohol are forbidden, singing, playing guitar and drink local alcohol which gives you a headhache.

Back to the small harbour, Malik climbs in a crane which we estimate the day after at more than 20 meters. Almost the highest point of the island. In the dead of night, impossible to see him, we just hear a big splash. He comes out, with a smile on his lips.

The day after, time to go home, everyone prepares their bags, I’d have continued for another 6 months. Return to reality, cars, shops, people…Family separation in Tahiti, everyone goes ahead to new adventures.

Thanks the all of the boat team, the Oxbow team, it will be one of the most beautiful trips and not only for conditions or landscapes, but especially for the atmosphere on board.
I dedicated this travel to Malik..because Malik would smile!!!

We are on our way to the Tuamotu – any recommendations where we can get to by Sailing yacht and find good flat water kitesurfing?
