The waves of Rodrigues are very fast, it is necessary to be fast as much as them. You have to press on the rails, take the slope, the rest
is only pleasure and adrenalin. I let me catch up by this mass which goes pale, in order to play more with them, to appreciate it
better…. happiness. Curves link together, it is smooth, transparent, the reef is not far, I have fun.
No war in the peak, no need to fight, I am alone, except these birds which accompany me, and sometimes there are flying fish, tortoises, or a whale.
This will continue during 5 days, waves, bottoms, rollers, I will be all clean and satisfied after sessions of daily 4 hours.
It is necessary to know that to Rodrigues, there is no real pass, just a hole of water which closes during the big series. All this do not facilitate the task of the photographer and the cameraman.
Philippe with his big camera settles comfortably in the reef, he finds a small headland, just to be above froths. Like a tightrope walker, he
will spend days to look for the best angle. Franck, from his part, had some fright at the back of the boat which gave the impression to tumble down waves at every series.
Each one deserves the supper, accompanied with the famous cocktail ” Tucouzoupas “.
The last day, we’ll be invited by the fishermen, we will taste, feet into the water, sea unicorns, charmingly marinated in a secret family recipe, around a campfire, toasted with some fruity and sweet local wine.
It is already the hour to take back the road, I find my small word of the last year in the visitors’ book of the hotel in which I spoke of returning, I rewrite the same sentence.
