It helps a lot to have Philippe during the trip, when the conditions are perfect, we quickly know it, because it’s when he does not swim !!

Bertrand rips the wave during hours, as soon as his Philippe swims, he goes back because that means that the wind fell. Not really fallen, I would say rather when the wind passes from 30 knots to 25, not enough for the 7meter.

I really enjoy being, from morning till night, in waves, under the sun with my mates who are teasing themselves all the time, between the hot pepper on the toothbrush, in the mouth of sleepy Bertrand… everything is not unrepeatable.

The last day, good news, an helicopter is ready for tomorrow …so I postpone my flight ticket for one day !!

A huge disappointment for the breakfast, the swell fell and no wind,  we grin and bear it  and we decide to go playing under a blower.

We approach the hole and quickly we take a shower, we get crash by a downpour which fall back. It keep us busy during one hour, the wind is off the coast, there is no hurry.

We cancel the helicopter and decide to go to Ravines Blanches.

Over there, the wind blows at 20 knots, wave of 2m50, commotion, we call back the helicopter, we jump straight into the water to avoid sea urchins. Philippe, for once, is slower, and will be obliged to launch his kite on the beach 800 metres upwind.

An helicopter approaches, everything is set, the sun plays hide-and-seek with the clouds.
Stéphane will lean out of the window during 40 minutes in stationary flight above the spot, curious people and policemen, a little bit worried by the helicopter, come to look at the show.

The exit is a little bit hard but we will return without sea urchins, and without cuts.

Reunion Island deserves itself but knows how to be generous in these conditions.

For sure, I’ll come back one day, I have visited nothing so I have a good excuse to stay longer here, next time. Before coming, we told me about mountains, about hikes, about waterfalls, welcoming people, and I didn’t have the time to do everything, but I appreciated waves, wind, sun and I liked to be rolled in sea urchins, it’s sure I’ll go back here.
