I originally booked my ticket for a week to shoot a big swell on the famous wave of Teahupoo in Tahiti … I’m finally here since a month. I postponed my ticket, seeing new weather maps and large swells on the way to French Polynesia.

The wind blew continuously. I took the opportunity to go kitesurfing with stingrays and sharks, to surf other spots than Teahupoo and turn the next episode of the web serie Make My Day.

The swell arrived last Saturday. The first day no wind, sunshine, waves and incredible bomb.
I spent the day on the jet with the photographer Thouard Benjamin, in the heart of the action. Benjamin drives the jet while he’s shooting pictures, and it stands a few meters from the wave. (see photo below)
We got some really good bomb that day, it’s pretty intense to live, and if you ever have the opportunity to go to Tahiti, do not miss Teahupoo !

The swell was held three days, but no wind. Teahupoo configuration is quite special and generally the surrounding mountains trap the clouds. It can rain here and not everywhere else .. it adds charm to this spot so special. When it works like last week, with wind, waves and sun, we can consider ourselves lucky.

I’ll go back with crazy footage, 15 tapes, and more than 150 gigabytes of rush, i will edit all that and offer you the Make My Day in Tahiti in early September.

Thank you to all for this fabulous trip, was great to see all of you, Ben, Domi, Greg, Julian, laurence, Teiva, Nina, Baptist, Marco, Tim ….

Check the day that we got on surfline.
