Sailing thru Indonesia
Already 1 month and half that i’m in Indonesia.
After 3 weeks on land, on a small island, we went 2 weeks on a boat to explore the Est of Indonésia.
The boat is a traditional sailing boat, made completely in wood, like a traditional Sulavesi boat (Island located North of Indo), a marvelous blue sail, a true pirate vessel.
Island to Island, we sail around to find some spot, pushed by the sail, the wind and the swell.
We went deep in Indo, in remote places, or Inhabited island, most of the place are very hard to go by the road, we get close contact with the population, and they were happy to share moment with us, in their village or on our boat.
We get really good surf, on deserted spot, sometimes we share it with manta ray (and not shark like we thought at the beginning)
With my kite, Syrbad (the name of the boat) have no more secret for my lines, unroll and launch from it was easy with the 5Th line of my new North kiteboarding rebel 2010.
Lots of spot and also a big surprised windy every day, for a month.
We end up in komodo, to meet the famous Komodo Dragon, crazy animal coming from the History.
I went back to the civilization in Bali for a day, and then left to go to another island for one month with John Bilderback the cameraman/photographer, to meet my Oxbow team mates, Bertrand Fleury and Tuva Jensen.
The spot is perfect, and we get some really good day, hopefully we will get more of it for the next 15 days.
