March 25 - 2008
I have just spent one week in Cabo Verde with Jaime Herraiz (Team manager North), the magazine Kiteboarder and riders from France for the Kiteboarder Academy. Riders spent the week to test the matos North, Evo (and an exclusive EVO proto), Rebel, Rhino, and all the boards under advice of Jaime and me.
There was wind all the week, and everyone set out tired and full of sun.
Session at Kite beach in 9 meters, kiteloop, jump, and waves for everyone.
With Jaime we went to enjoy Punta Preta between 2 freestyle and strapless sessions. Everyone had already a very good level, they improve a lot, with good crashes, the whole rinsed by good caipirinhas at the evening.
With Jaime we stay 2 more days, a large swell arrived.
Friday wake up early, we went to some more or less secret spots… We find Mitu the local, Jérome, and Pascal Laborde the photographer.
Downwind on 3 waves. The first one very hollow, tubular and no right for error, the wind is light and I have some hard time in 9 meters.
The second is longer, very big with sections, with some good rushes more than 4 meters for the set… not safe of the whole (Jaime was getting hot with scary line)
the third, smaller, a truth park, very cool to surf, hollow and more safe. The following day no wind but a good session of surfing. Here is for the week with sun, wind and waves…
